This has been really helpful for me! one question: for the "project the state ahead" step, the first one shared, the notation differs in the flowchart to the detail slide. In the flow chart, the solved for term is "yhat_-k". In the individual slide, it's just "y_k". Is this because "yhat_k" becomes "yhat_-k" in this step since is during the "time update" portion of the algorithm? At what point exactly should "yhat_k" become "yhat_-k"? Additionally are "yhat_-k" and "yhat_k-1" the same??

1:06:32 - no, that is not true at all.. You can definitely use dynamically sized vectors/matrices in C, and in C++ you can make the syntax even simpler by overloading the appropriate operators for matrix multiplication, etc... And you don't even need a math library like GLM to do any of this crap, it takes like a couple hours tops to write this code. The idea that you need something like Python to multiply matrices "100 times easier" is ridiculous lol.

Did you wipe clean IR emitter and sensor? Our two i7+ don't show that behavior.

I would think making plastic bags into tarps - to protect; grills, mowers, tractors, plants, etc. wouldn't need to be "sewed" if fusing by heat/irons ? Has anybody tried this with success ?

You can get larger parchment paper 26" x 18" at a resteraunt supplier. A case cost around $35 and last me for around a decade because I cook with it.

Going back to using the wheel diameter to do odometry, can you put the wheel diameter as a state variable, give it your best guess for initial value, and let the kalman filter converge on it. The system is over-determined in position because it has multiple sensors to compute it, can't a cross of all those sensors arrive to a good value for the wheel diameter? It's a general questions for things that are hard to measure like the moment of inertia or the position of the center of gravity in a rocket, can we put them in a state variable, add extraneous sensors and let the system find the values?

In the slide "Kalman Filter in detail" (around 35:59), shouldn't H be "a function to go from state vector to sensor reading"? I got a bit thrown by that, as on the next slide H is used to transform y_k (the state vector). Checked on wikipedia as well, it says: "Hk is the observation model which maps the true state space into the observed space".
